As National Foster Care Month approaches, Howard Center is shining a light on the many children across the state of Vermont looking for caring adults to nurture and support their growth. On any given day there are over 1,300 children in the Vermont foster care system and over 60 children waiting for an adoptive family.
If you have ever wondered about foster care, now is the time to learn more! Howard Center is hosting a Therapeutic Foster Care Open House & Information Session April 7th from 6pm to 7:30pm at 1138 Pine St. Burlington VT, Child, Youth and Family Services. The information session will begin at 6:30pm.
There are so many ways to become a meaningful connection for a child in your community. Whether you have a few hours on the weekend or have always wondered about adoption, there is a youth in your community looking for that support. Some children are looking for hourly weekend buddies; others are looking for overnight weekend respite while some are looking for life-long families.
Our Howard Center team supports individuals and families every step of the way. You don’t have to be rich, married or own a home to make a difference in a child’s life. Children in our program range in age from 6 to 18 and are all looking for compassionate adults to help them reach their individual goals.
To RSVP to the open house or learn more about our team and the children we support, please call Katie Nee, Resource Coordinator at 802.488.6742 or email HCFosterCare@howardcenter.org today!
