Tonight's Movie at Rumney Library!

Past event
Feb 18, 2015, 7 to 9 PM

Some of you might remember when builders went from 2x4 to 2x6 construction. Or when we stopped using single pane windows & went to double pane (1/4" Thermopane). Those changes met w/ a lot of resistance @ the time: "Why waste your money when fuel oil/coal is so cheap?" etc.

Now th@ super-insulated walls & triple pane windows & air-tight, super-fresh-air homes are std. in so many places around the world - but not yet in America - the same resistance is encountered: "Why waste your money when it'll take maybe a few years to recoup the saved fuel costs?" "Why bother reducing your carbon footprint when everyone's still warming up their cars in the morning, & we're still building coal-fired electric plants?" etc.

Tonight we're showing the VT-made "SuperHouse" movie - w/ Brab's homemade choc. chip cookies, & milk - @ Rumney School Library @ 7 p.m. If there's enough interest, we'll show "Passive House Revolution" sometime as well. Both movies may be sampled @ http://phausvt.org/passive-house. [Info. & pix of our passive house are @ http://phausvt.org/projects/whitchurch-cottage-middlesex.]

Hope to see you there. Gerg 223-2416
