The Plainfield Selectboard hereby provides notice of a public hearing being held pursuant to
24 VSA §4444 (Public Hearing Notice) for the purpose of hearing public comments concerning a
proposed revision of the Plainfield Zoning Regulations. The public hearing has been scheduled for Friday, January 31, 2025 at the Town Hall Opera House and by Zoom. This meeting has been called to allow the selectboard to review and get public input before deciding to present the proposed changes to the public on town meeting day.

Statement of Purpose:
The proposed changes to the Plainfield Zoning Regulations will serve the following purposes:
1) To provide additional housing development options in areas served by municipal water and sewer infrastructure in compliance with the Vermont HOME Act.
2) To provide for a more flood-resilient community.
3) To create a boundary Amendment to expand the Village District to include the former Goddard College Campus

Geographic Area Affected:
The Bylaw changes shall apply to all areas in the Town of Plainfield, Vermont.
