Join the fun and help your neighbors – volunteer for our WindowDressers Community Build Nov 1-6.
Insulating window inserts reduce drafts, improve warmth, lower heating bills and reduce greenhouse emissions. The WindowDressers nonprofit makes them affordable through community build workshops where those receiving inserts work alongside other community volunteers to assemble the inserts.
This year we're building over 200 inserts for homes in Shelburne, Charlotte and Hinesburg. We'll gather at the Shelburne Town Hall to talk, laugh, have some snacks and build the inserts. Each person will learn a simple step in an assembly process, with different jobs for a wide range of abilities and mobility levels. It's like an old fashioned barn raising or quilting bee— for windows!
The build will run from Friday, November 1 – Wednesday, November 6 at the Shelburne Town Hall. Three-hour shifts are available from 8-11, 11-2, and 2-5 each day, and evening shifts from 5-8 on Monday and Wednesday.
