Relocalizing VT: Dogs! Cats! Renewable Energy!

Past event
Oct 20, 2022, 9 to 10:30 AM

Coming up Thursday on Central Vermont Community Radio — Why adoptable pets are overabundant now, and how solar farms can produce food and other goods, too.

9:00 - 10:00 am
In 2020, demand for pet adoptions soared. Now, Central Vermont Humane Society reports an abundance of animals are being surrendered to them. We'll talk with Co-director Erika Holm about why that's the case, what to expect when adopting an animal raised during Covid, and other animal-related questions.

Solar electricity production and agriculture can share the same fields—with sheep and/or pollinators living off the vegetation growing on solar farms. Chad Farrell, CEO of Encore Encore Renewable Energy, will talk about the "agrovoltaics" they install. This is one of the topics at next week's Renewable Energy Vermont conference in Burlington.
