Join us this Sunday from 1-4 for tea, sandwiches, scones, and elegant cookies upstairs in the Adamant Co-op studio, or outside on the porch. Upstairs: sit among papier-mâché works by Janet Macleod, new paintings by Joy Seadeek, and collages by Suzanne Rexford Winston. On the porch: enjoy views of water, fall leaves, and the Adamant green. Offerings will be self-serve and by donation.
Come for the tea, and stay for the art!
October is the first in a series of exhibits featuring local artists upstairs in the Co-op studio. Until Nov 15, we're showing paintings by Joy Seadeek and collages by Suzanne Rexford Winston.
Joy is a self-taught painter. Her acrylics focus on landscapes and abstracts, using a range of tools and brushes. Joy lives in Worcester and is married to Craig Seadeek, one of the East Montpelier road crew.
Suzanne returned to collage, which she had done off and on since high school, a few years ago, having hit a wall artmaking-wise. This work represents a period during which she lost many family members. Her grief comes out in the work, but the pieces are neither grim nor depressing.
The studio is open to visitors during store hours, M-F 8-6, Sat/ Sun 10-1. If the door is locked, just ask a staff member to open it for you. For more info contact janetmac@ezcloud.com or 802-595-0298.
