Hi neighbors,
Will you, or someone you know, be kicked off of Medicaid in the coming months?
Once the federal public health emergency ends--which could happen as early as April--states will begin sending out letters to redetermine eligibility for the record numbers of people who signed up for Medicaid during the pandemic. Fifteen million people nationally are estimated to be at risk of losing access to Medicaid, with many thousands likely in Vermont.
So far, we haven't heard much from our elected officials about this issue, which means it's time to get organized. If you or someone you know may be at risk of losing Medicaid, here are two action steps you can take:
1. Sign the #ForwardTogether petition calling on Vermont's public officials to maintain and expand Medicaid eligibility: https://www.workerscenter.org/forward-together
2. Share your story on March 16th at 6pm at the online Public Forum on the Right to Housing & Healthcare: https://www.workerscenter.org/calendar/2022/03/16/public-forum-on-the-right-to-housing-healthcare
