Neighbors,
Join us for a joint Ward 5/6 NPA on Thursday, January 16 to discuss affordability.
We'll discuss the current cost of public services in Burlington and the impact of the proposed bonds that are on the Town Meeting Day ballot. Much of the meeting will be devoted to open discussion among South End residents about what we need and can afford as a community. At the end of our conversation, we'll conduct an anonymous affordability poll, which we'll share with current City Councilors and candidates.
We'll begin with dinner from the People's Kitchen at 6:30; public forum at 7; discussion at 7:15, and the poll at 8:00 pm.
In addition, residents are invited to attend the Ward 8 NPA meeting on Thu. January 23, at 6:30 PM. This meeting will have presentations on the upcoming ballot initiatives. The meeting takes place in the Bushor Conference Room on the ground floor of City Hall, 149 Church St. You may also attend virtually: https://zoom.us/j/91523077007
What is the NPA?
Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations established in Burlington's wards to encourage resident participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies help improve communication between the residents of Burlington and City government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward.
