Hello fellow neighbors, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to let you know that we found a new date for the sign-making party! Which is Sunday, Aug. 22nd from 11 AM - 2 PM. In the event weather doesn't allow for this party to happen on Sunday, our backup date is Saturday, Aug. 21st.
The overall plan is to gather at our neighbors' house, Laura and Andy at 132 Staniford Rd on Sunday, Aug. 22nd from 11 AM - 2 PM to make some signs, eat some food and meet one another. This is planned to be a fully outdoor event, so please plan accordingly. If weather is questionable leading up to this party I will provide an update.
We will have sign-making supplies (thanks to fellow neighbors), but still need the following:
-Those old cans of spray paint that you may never have a use for... OR new spray paint if you feel energized to show up with some
-Any type of sign-making flair that would help enhance our signage
-Old campaign signs/yard signs (we have about 70 people can use, but if you have any laying around collecting dust please bring)
The sign-making process is very easy and fun, and one of our fellow neighbors will have a variety of stencils to use to create your word messaging asking people to slow down. AND, everyone can use whatever creative flair they may have to jazz up their personal sign.
We will have a grill and plan to make some kosher and vegetable hot dogs. If anyone wants to bring something to share that's cool, but no need to bring anything but yourself and whatever beverages you want.
This is an outdoor event. And given the added complications with COVID I will continue to provide updates as we get closer. But my overall hope is that our community will show up, respect the space of others and have a great time!
Many of us have various reasons to get traffic to slow down on Staniford Rd, and other roads throughout the NNE. Let's come together to get things moving in a much slower, safer way!!!! Hope to see you on Sunday, August 22nd!
