Big Beet Glean in Jericho

Past event
Nov 17, 2020, 12 to 3 PM

This is a joint glean with Community Harvest of Central Vermont and the Healthy Roots Collaborative and maybe others.

There are about 900 feet of beautiful beets (about two truck loads) still out in the field. We are planning this glean so we can get the rest of the beets and make sure all the gleaning programs have beets to provide local food shelves for months to come.

We understand that everyone is very concerned about the current spike in COVID cases in VT. We want to assure you that the gleaning work we do is essential to providing food to those in need, and is designated as "essential work" by the state. We are taking the utmost care while out in the fields and for all our other projects to make sure that there is lots of distance between volunteers, all are wearing face coverings at all times, so all can stay safe while helping to feed our community.

If you can only come for part of the time, that works great just let us know when you RSVP.
Also Allison from CHCV will be starting early at about 11am so if the morning is better for you, plan to join her then. Please RSVP and let us know if you plan to come early.

We hope you can join us for this last big field glean of the season!

For more information or to RSVP, please reply, email healthyrootsgleans@gmail.com, or call 802-735-4551.
Thanks!

Peter Jenkins
Healthy Roots Collaborative gleaning coordinator
