Madi, a local resident, longtime Positive Pie employee and graduate from Hazen Union High School, had a snowboarding accident in 2019 and sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI). As a result of this, she suffers with long term health issues and is diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome, which means these health problems are likely to continue for a prolonged period of time. Formerly outgoing and adventurous, she now spends most days unable to do much apart from rest and attend multiple doctor and therapy appointments. The injury has greatly limited her ability to work while out of pocket medical and living expenses have already added up to well over $10,000.
