Exercise! Satisfaction! Food! Gifts! Please join the Lincoln Conservation Commission on Saturday, June 22, for our roadside invasive-exotic-weed-pulling party. We'll be pulling poison parsnip, an invasive plant that has shown up on Lincoln roadsides, but still limited enough in its distribution to eradicate. Pulling really makes a difference with this annual weed.
We'll meet at the Lincoln sports field pavilion by the fire house at 9:00 AM. Wear long sleeve shirt, long pants, and close-toed shoes (poison parsnip sap can cause a nasty rash when exposed to sunlight), and bring a water bottle. Bring a shovel and gloves if you have them, but gloves will also be available. We'll have ID sheets, plus live plants, so you know what to pull.
We'll provide a yummy lunch between 12 and 1, featuring Vaneasa's fabulous food. To avoid throw-away plastics, please bring your own mug for soup (we'll have extras if you forget). We'll also have a local gift for all who participate.
