Town Meeting Day is a state holiday in Vermont that takes place on the first Tuesday of March. It's a day when citizens gather to discuss local issues, vote on budgets, and elect local officials.
Until a few years ago Hinesburg's meeting the Monday night before Town Meeting Day involved items on the Town Meeting Warrant being discussed and voted on by a floor vote. But, as attendance got lower and lower at that meeting, residents voted to have all decisions voted on by paper ballot (Australian ballot) on the next day, Town Meeting Day. The Monday night meeting became an information meeting for questions and discussions, but no voting. Then early voting became available. We had some very valuable discussions about ballot items last year at our Town Meeting Informational Evening, but many residents pointed out that the meeting needed to be earlier because many had already voted. And so, this year the Selectboard has decided to hold our
Annual Town Meeting Informational Evening on

At 6 pm
