"Stories Told Behind the Barn" will prove to be a night of laughter and perhaps a tear or two. Storyteller, author, and 6th generation Vermonter Bill Torrey, grew up on his family's farmstead in Essex in the 60's and 70's. The farm provided fodder for a plateful of stories, some of which you'll get to hear at the Waterbury Library on Wednesday, February 6th at 7 O'Clock. His book "The Ta Ta Weenie Club" is full of his tales and mischief.
To get a taste of Bill, listen to WDEV on the morning show at 8:45 on Tuesday, February 5th.
Bill has won four Moth Story Slams in Burlington, three Extempo Competitions in Central Vermont, and New York's North Country Public Radio's Black Fly Story Slam where he received the coveted Golden Fly Swatter. His next book, "Working Out of It" tells the tales of his 40 hear career working the hills and woods of Vermont, and will be coming out in sometime in 2019.
