The League of Women Voters of Vermont invites you to join us for a celebration of the National League's 98th Anniversary, Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the North Branch Cafe, 41 State Street, Montpelier.

The National League was founded by Carrie Chapman Catt in 1920 during the convention of the National American Woman Suffrage Association, and it remains the only direct descendant group of those early suffragettes. The League was founded just months before the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, giving women the right to vote after a 72-year struggle.

All those interested in and supportive of voting and constitutional rights, fairness in government, participatory democracy, and of women's activism and history, please join us for hors d'oeuvres, discourse, and commemoration of this exceptional organization.
