Before the Flood: Hosted by Your Energy Committee

Past event
Mar 25, 2017, 6 to 8:30 PM

On Saturday, March 25th, the Huntington Energy Committee, in conjunction with the Huntington Public Library, is excited to host its first event in 2017. This event will be the first in a series of education forums connected to energy use, carbon footprint, solar and electric options for Huntington residents and the increasing global climate crisis. We will be handing out free LED light bulbs to all those who attend this first event!

Event: Potluck & Movie viewing of the 2016 documentary Before the Flood (90 minutes), produced by Leonardo DiCapio.

When: 6:00pm potluck dinner followed by movie at 6:30-8:00pm. We’d like to invite folks who feel so moved to stay after the movie for discussion.

Where: Brewster Pierce Memorial School gymnasium.

*If you’re able, please bring a small food dish to share as well as your own plate/utensils; our goal is to make this a waste-free event* (while enjoying some yummy local food to benefit your waist!)

To learn more about this film and watch a preview before you join us, visit https://www.beforetheflood.com

It is our hope by sharing this moving film with fellow Huntington families, it will inspire and motivate others to join us for upcoming events where we will explore the details of topics such as carbon sequestration, residential solar installation, electric vehicles and learn more about how Huntington residents would like to save on energy consumption and cost. In addition, we hope by participating in conversations and education opportunities within our community, we can work together to seek steps big and small so that we may all become a positive link in the big picture of global energy consumption.

We look forward to seeing you there.
