Two events this weekend for plant and wildlife enthusiasts:

CORVID COMMUNITY NATURALISTS: TWIGS
Saturday, December 10
9 a.m. to noon
Rock Point (5 Rock Point Rd, Burlington)

Join Crow's Path this Saturday for our monthly all-ages gathering for folks looking to track the changes of the seasons, learn outdoors skills, and connect with nature in Burlington's urban wilds. Adults and kids (5+) go off on separate adventures, then come back together to share stories. For December, learn the basics of twig ID, while exploring fun uses for twigs, like straws, beads, and bubble wands. Led by Teage O'Connor.

Open to anyone who wants to spend more time outside learning about and observing seasonal changes, patterns, and rhythms. Students, educators, outdoor enthusiasts, teens, parents, grandparents, naturalists and other interested folks all welcome at adult program. Suggested donation $10 for individuals, $20 for family. WILDLIFE TRACKING CLUB
Sunday, December 11
1 to 4 p.m.
Schmanska Park (Grove St, Burlington)

Join us for the first meeting of the Burlington Tracking Club, a group that will gather monthly to look for wildlife track and sign in different natural areas in and around town. Gatherings are free, informal, and open to all experience levels. The goal is to connect with Burlington's wildlife and learn from each other as we explore.

For our first gathering, we will meet at the parking area for Schmanska Park on Grove St (map link below). From there we will explore upstream or downstream along Centennial Brook. This area has served as a travel corridor for bobcat and moose in past seasons, as well as offering habitat for fisher, fox, mink, otter, beaver and deer.

Dress warmly (think layers!) in consideration of a slow pace. Warm, waterproof boots suitable for off-trail travel recommended. Bring water and/or a hot beverage, notebook and ruler/measuring tape optional. This is a free event.
