The Center for Community News trains students in journalism and the Winooski News assigns news stories to the Center. Winooski has no other news source and local news is a crucial way for communities to learn more about their neighbors, important events and feel more connected. Winooski is a vibrant and unique community in Vermont given its racial demographics and other characteristics and it deserves a sustainable news source. In an age where local news is eroding, Winooski News aims to be a counterexample.
