Go behind the scenes and be part of the audience for a live recording of Vermont Public's Homegoings podcast. Just in time for Valentine's day, Host Myra Flynn sits down with sexologist Tyomi Morgan to talk about sex and racism in America, and the barriers of bias that keep us from loving one another the best we can.

Following the live conversation, Tyomi will lead us in a "speed dating" exercise, where you'll be invited to get to know your audience neighbor more deeply through a series of honest and thought-provoking questions. You don't need to be single to participate, this is a platonic activity! After that we invite you to mix and mingle while enjoying Jamaican food from Thingz From Yaad and the soundtrack of DJ Fernetic's vinyl soundscape.

Join or Die is a film about why you should join a club—and why the fate of America depends on it. Joined by Hillary Clinton, Priya Parker and others, Robert Putnam, author of Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community, will explore three urgent civic questions: What makes democracy work? Why is American democracy in crisis? And, most importantly… What can we do about it?

Reserve your free tickets to join the audience for a live broadcast of Vermont Edition featuring local musicians Seamus Egan and Moira Smiley, accompanied by guitarist Yann Falquet of Brattleboro. They will chat with Vermont Edition host Mikaela Lefrak, and also perform a few songs, in our Stetson Studio One.

Seamus Egan is a recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer. He has toured nationally and internationally with the Seamus Egan Project and as a founding member of the world-renowned Irish band, Solas.

Moira Smiley is a singer, composer, and song-collector. She has sung in arenas, cathedrals, kitchens, back porches, sound stages, and on glaciers. She's performed with the likes of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Tune-Yards, Tim O'Brien, Eric Whitacre, Los Angeles Master Chorale, New World Symphony, Solas, and The Lyris String Quartet.
