Sometimes we choose change and sometimes change chooses us.
I'm Kristabeth Atwood and I am a Pastor for People Who Don't Do Church. I was a church pastor for 18 years and today I bring my pastor's heart to my work with people of all identities and worldviews.
From the joys of births and weddings, to the sorrows of death, illness, and divorce, to grappling with relocation, family struggles, identity issues, job changes, and loss, we all face change throughout our lives. I believe that acknowledging the changes we experience is essential to our well-being.
I help my clients explore life's big questions as I walk with them through the spiritual, emotional, and practical aspects of life's changes. My work includes one-on-one spiritual direction and grief support, small group gatherings focused on the transformative power of change, and designing and officiating personalized ceremonies to mark life's transitions.
I hold space for people to connect with themselves, those around them, and with the sacred, whatever that means to them. I feel privileged to help people honor and mark the meaningful moments that encompass all the seasons of life – from birth to death.
In addition to my professional experience, my personal journey through the joys and challenges of marriage, divorce, re-marriage, becoming a stepparent, relocation, career changes, the trauma of violence, and loss of loved ones informs my work. I bring my expertise, experience, and gifts to help my clients acknowledge and accept the joys and challenges of change so they can move into the next season of life with hope.
