Guitar and Music Lessons

I offer guitar lessons for adults and children over 5 years of age. Lessons are accommodating and student-focused: we begin wherever you are. Having no experience at all is perfectly okay. If you have been playing for years, we can focus on increasing and refining skills. I have performed and taught classical, folk, jazz, rock, pop, funk, and reggae. I currently teach lessons primarily on acoustic guitar, but if you use an electric guitar that is okay as well.

Playing together is an important part of lessons, and the relationship developed through music is the greatest teacher. I encourage improvisation at any level of technical ability. Because playing music together involves listening, creativity, emotion, many different parts of the brain, and responding to cues from the other, it is a powerful learning space for life. Playing music together can also be highly therapeutic and often transformative.
