Please join the crowd for WORDS OUT LOUD: Poetry & Parables, Fantasy & Fables as we welcome favorite Vermont poets Geof Hewitt and Verandah Porche this Sunday for the final pair of readings in this Fall's series at the Old West Church, with receptions to follow afterward at the Kent Museum!
Sunday, Oct. 2
3:00 p.m.
Old West Church (dress in today's warm layers in the event of the antique church's chill)
Many locals who know Geof and Verandah and their work are drawn in by the seeming ease with which they communicate through poetry, relate to others in their writing, and draw others in through their teaching of writing. These are poets who get what it is to be human, and their poetry lets us in. Both poets received the inaugural Ellen-McCulloch Lovell Award in Arts Education at the Governor's Arts Award ceremony in 2015, sharing that distinction. They are just plain thoughtful, whip-smart, and engaging. Come listen.
Free event. Donations always welcome to keep these community events going. Books by all WOL authors available for purchase at the Kent Store through Oct. 9 during the Art at the Kent PARABLES exhibit.
For more details on the art, the artists, the authors, and the reading series, see http://www.kentscorner.org/art-at-the-kent.html.
