Hello Monktonians, just beating the drum a little bit regarding the upcoming Monkton Wood Bank meeting, to be held Thursday night, 7:00 PM at the Monkton Friends Methodist Church, Monkton Ridge. We've got wood stacked up and ready to go, we've got donation money in hand, and we could use some help starting up. If "Have Chainsaw, Will Travel" is your motto, then you are a Wood Bank person. However, if cutting, splitting, stacking is not your forte, we have a number of jobs begging for different expertise: sign painting (e.g. "Drop Wood Here"), maintaining volunteer database, advertising, organizing, design/build, etc. In a nutshell, the Wood Bank is organizing to provide emergency winter heating assistance to Monkton households in the form of firewood, propane or fuel oil. Project HOPE in Middlebury will determine eligibilities and priorities, and hold the money. Hope to see you at the meeting!
