SHHS is excited to present Everette Dubuque, Ron Phelps, and Chet MacKenzie and the history of sturgeon fishing in the Islands on Friday, Sept. 9th at 7PM. Everett will be talking about his experiences fishing for sturgeon from the time he was a junior in high school until 1968. Ron will talk about what he remembers hearing from his grandfather about his sturgeon fishing experiences. Ron has wonderful pictures and actual equipment that was used!

Chet Mackenzie, from the VT Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, will also present current information about what the state has been doing to track the sturgeon population and their spawning habits which has enabled the state to develop a lake sturgeon recovery program.

Please join us. Presentations are interactive and we would love for you to share if you have a story or anecdote. Everyone, children and adults, residents and non-residents, members and non members are welcome at our monthly programs.

Hope to see you there!!!
