Waterbury Marks 5th Anniversary of Irene Aug. 28

A week from Sunday is the 5th anniversary of Tropical Storm Irene. Waterbury will mark the occasion with a loosely organized event on the State Complex lawn from 1-3 p.m. ending with a community photo by Gordon Miller at 3 p.m. at the corner of Elm and Main Streets. Here are the details:

1-3 p.m., Sun. Aug. 28
Flood Downtown Waterbury with people!
Friends and neighbors ~ young and old

Gather on the State Complex Horseshoe Lawn, 1-3 p.m.
Pack a picnic or grab a bite and brew in town
Bring the kids, some lawn toys, etc.

At 3:00, everyone will move to Elm & Main Streets for a community portrait by Gordon Miller
