Vermont history, architecture, and textile enthusiasts might be interested in this event in historic Castleton:

The annual Castleton Colonial Day will be held on Saturday, August 20, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Rain or Shine. Over 21 historic sites, buildings and private homes will be available to visitors. Several examples of early 19th century joiner
and architect, Thomas Dake, featured in Andres and Johnson’s Excellent book “Buildings of Vermont” are included. This is a perfect day for Vermont history buffs, Vermont architectural design buffs and textile enthusiasts since there will also be exhibits of Vermont period clothing and antique quilts. Kelly Fulani, noted VT slate sculptor, will demonstrate her fabulous work.
Tickets are $20 and $18 for seniors. Children under 12 are free.
Sponsored by the Castleton Woman’s Club with proceeds designated for scholarships for local students.
