The Mount Mansfield Double Up is looking for volunteers to help ensure a positive and safe race experience for its competitors. The race begins at the base of Stowe Mountain Resort, climbs up and over Mt. Mansfield before descending Maple Ridge and the old CCC Road down into Underhill. From there, the race returns uphill via Laura Cowles trail before connecting to other spur trails and descending back down to the base of Stowe. It is a truly unique race for our beautiful part of the state.
Volunteers are needed for racer check-in on Saturday night (Aug 13) from 5-8 PM, morning-of pre-race check-in and starting line assistance on race day (Aug 14), the Sunset Ridge aid station, course wardens, and post-race award ceremony.
All on-course volunteer posts require the volunteer to hike into his/her post and remain in the elements for multiple hours until the course sweeper comes through. You should be capable of hiking in/out on your own as well as sustaining on your own food and water from approximately 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM on race day, August 14.
