Spend the weekend learning to build a shaving horse and carve your own wooden spoon with artist and writer Peter Forbes and designer, builder & master-craftsman Greg Ryan.
A shaving horse is a very useful combination vice and workbench that has been a mainstay of woodworkers.
On Saturday we will explore different types of shaving horses and the tools used with them, including draw knives and spokeshaves. On Sunday you will learn to design, carve, and finish your own hardwood spoon.
Previous woodworking experience is helpful but not necessary. Register with Greg Ryan at theymightbegypsies@gmail.com or Anna at anna@newlearningjourney.org
Overnight accommodations are available for $40 per night.
