Foodaroo, happening this Sunday on Middlebury's town green and Merchants Row, invites event attendees to pay it forward. When you come to feast, please consider bringing non-perishable goods for HOPE to support the Addison County Food Shelf, which feeds hundreds every month. Also message us if you are willing to loan a 10x10 tent for HOPE to use at the festival.
HOPE will be on hand to collect food items and to share the important work they are doing, including collecting surplus produce from Addison County Farmers to support the Just Soup Project to feed the hungry with healthy, hearty, locally sourced soups. HOPE has also contracted with several farms to grow produce so they may process and freeze large batches to supplement the food shelf when local food is less available.
Most needed donations to the food shelf include: peanut butter; canned meat; breakfast cereal; juice; canned fruit; baking items; personal hygiene items; cleaning supplies and diapers. Items of average size are more helpful than large sizes. Please no home canned foods, no foods past their sell-by date.
