A Conversation with House Minority Leader - Don Turner

Past event
Jun 28, 2016, 7 to 8:30 PM

Don Turner, Representative from Milton and the Minority Leader in the State House, is coming to the Jericho Elementary School on June 28 at 7 p.m. to speak with residents about the successes and challenges in the latest legislative session, and the areas where he expects the legislature to focus on in the upcoming session.
Many of us feel a responsibility to be informed on the issues facing our legislature in Montpelier, but the demands of life, work and family often take precedence over following the various bills through the State House. If you’d like to get a better idea of what just happened under “the Dome”, please consider stopping by on June 28 at 7 p.m. to hear Don’s take. He expects to summarize some of the most material legislation passed in the recent session and explain the impacts on residents. For example, what’s in this “new fee” package that the legislature passed and how will that affect typical households in Jericho and Underhill?
Heck, even if you are uber-informed, please come to share your thoughts with Don and fellow residents. Do you have an opinion on property taxes or school consolidation? Here’s your chance to share it with the minority leader. Would you rather have more renewable energy or more local control over siting? Don would like to know. The format will provide for questions and answers, and the more questions, the better. Don, of course, is a Republican, and the event is hosted by the Jericho and Underhill Republican committees, but all are welcome to attend and participate no matter what their political persuasion.
Hope to see you there!
