Anima Benefit Concert Saturday, June 11

Past event
Jun 11, 2016, 7 PM

Anima Women's Medieval Music Ensemble will be doing a benefit concert for the church on Saturday, June 11 at 7 pm. They will be presenting Medieval and Renaissance Music for a Peaceful Summer. Suggested donation is $15.

Anima is a group of 12 women who bring to life the impassioned music of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Founded and directed by Liz Thompson, the group began singing the works of Hildegard von Bingen in 1988, ad gave numerous concerts in Burlington and central Vermont until 1998. After a long hiatus a core group of original members plus a couple of new singers reunited in the summer of 2013, and are again enjoying singing together and bringing this music to Vermonters. Our hope is that through a meditative approach to singing and performing we can bring some small measure of peace to our listeners, and to our world.
