Please check out the information below regarding a very unique and important dance performance project that will premiere right here in Montpelier. It is the same weekend as graduations but it is under one hour long and will be presented two evenings. It seems to me the perfect timing to do morning graduations, lunch, dinner, and see a spectacular after dinner show. As of now it will only be performed twice in the state of Vermont before traveling to Boston and NYC. Don't miss it!
U.S. and Them is a live multimedia dance documentary "ripe with integrity, compassion, wisdom, deep expression, honesty, and creative brilliance."
Amia Cervantes, the project's Artistic Director and Choreographer, “hopes that viewers will experience the true and uneasy reality of undocumented immigrants and their loved ones.”
The sharing of firsthand experiences, layered with movement developed from very natural human impulses, evokes dramatic thought provoking and viscerally charged reactions.
It is being shown in Montpelier on June 10th and 11th at 7:30 at Contemporary Dance and Fitness Studio (3rd floor, no elevator) 18 Langdon St (above Onion River Sports). Suggested donation is $10.
This is a must-see for people who care about the travesty of our immigration situation and for people who care about dance.
