Green Up Day

Past event

It’s here! Tomorrow, Saturday May 7, is Green Up Day. And while there’s plenty going on around us, please take a few hours to spruce up our town. Get some bags, walk neighboring roads, and pick all the litter visible to the naked eye!

Bring your bags between 9 and noon to East Montpelier Elementary School where a crew of volunteers will collect your bags and dispose of all that litter.

Here’s a brief review:
- Bags available at Dudley Store and the parking lot of EMES. Or use your own.
- Wear brightly colored clothes, sensible shoes, gloves, sunscreen.
- Be tick smart. Wear long pants, avoid tall grass, and check for ticks when you get home.
- Do not pick any toxic or hazardous materials.
- Leave heavy items in place and inform Green Up Coordinator of location
- Separate cans and bottles from trash.
- No household trash.
- No personal tires.

And when you’re done -- head over to the school cafeteria , where from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. members of the Jean Cate Community Fund will have sandwiches, cookies and beverages for all Green Up Day participants.

We appreciate everyone's efforts and contributions and look forward to seeing Saturday as we all do our part to beautify our town!
