Anti-Racism Book Discussion Group

Feb 25, 2025, 7 to 8:30 PM

Our Anti-Racism Book Discussion Group meets monthly to talk about books by black and indigenous writers, including fiction, history, biography, autobiography and poetry.

Some of the books we have read are "The Fire Next Time" and "Notes of a Native Son" by James Baldwin, "Beloved" by Toni Morrison, "James" by Percival Elliott, "American Sunrise" (poetry) by Joy Harjo, and "We Who Walk the Seven Ways", a memoir by Terra Trevor. who is of Cherokee and Seneca ancestry.

This month we are reading "Killers of the Flower Moon," by David Grann about events in the Osage Nation after oil was discovered there in the 1920's.

We meet on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm by Zoom - some of our members are geographically scattered, so Zoom makes it possible for everyone to participate.

We welcome new members. Please contact me by e-mail for more information or to request a Zoom link for our next meeting on February 25.
