Everything you need to know about Green Up Day in Waterbury is online at our Sign Up Genius site and posted on the Town of Waterbury home page at www.waterburyvt.com. Short version:
- Get bags at the town offices and Sunflower Market.
- Drop off Green Up bags: On May 7 at the Town Garage, Guptil Road, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and at Rodney’s Rubbish at Crossroads Deli 8 a.m.-noon.
- Returnables: Please bag 5-cent returnables separate from trash if possible.
- Metal: Scrap metal recycling is free at both drop off locations.
- Tires: Recycle used tires at Rodney’s for $2.50 each; rims OK. Also, Waterbury Cal Ripkin League has a tire-recycling fundraiser at Waterbury Service Center on Main Street, 8-noon. Unmounted, used tires, $3 each. Benefits WCRL for uniforms, safety equipment, awards, and scholarships for baseball/softball registrations.
