Film Series Brings Perspective to Addiction and Recovery

The Collaborative, Turning Point of Bennington County, Southern VT Arts Center and Burlington Labs are bringing three film screenings and panel discussions with a focus on addiction and recovery to Southern VT Arts Center’s Arkell Pavilion:
· April 28th The Other Side of Cannabis
· May 5th The Hungry Heart
· May 12th The Anonymous People

Showings are at 7pm and are free and open to the public.

The films address substance use prevention, addiction, treatment and recovery. The Other Side of Cannabis explores the negative effects of marijuana on our youth. The Hungry Heart looks at opiate and heroin addiction through VT Pediatrician Fred Holmes. The Anonymous People is about the over 23 million Americans living in long-term recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. A panel discussion and audience question time will follow each film.

This is an important film series for the community please attend if you are concerned about addiction in our community, have been touched by use and addiction or if you are interested in being a part of a healthy community.

The Collaborative promotes the development of a healthy involved community supporting substance free youth in a caring environment. The Turning Point Recovery Center is a safe place where individuals and families struggling with the effects of alcoholism, drug abuse, and other addictive behaviors can find fellowship and support among peers.
