2nd Annual United in Harmony a Cappella Competition to be held April 9th at Middlebury’s Town Hall Theater.
United in Harmony is a fun-filled evening of a Cappella entertainment featuring some of the area’s best a Cappella groups in a friendly competition to help raise funds and awareness of United Way of Addison County’s ongoing non-profit mission in our community.
Competitors are from all over Vermont including House Blend, Upscale, Aged to Perfection, Sweet Transitions, Vocal Unrest, UVM Paws, Skidmore Dynamics, and Fortunate Happenstance.
This event will serve as a showcase for all vocal harmony enthusiasts while at the same time showing our friends and neighbors in need that they are supported and cared for by their fellow community members. Judges will be Clint Bierman, Justin Bouvier and Helen Weston. The emcee for the evening is Alisa Endsley, and the United in Harmony Artistic Director is Loren Sylvester.
Clint Bierman loves making and writing music. He is the guitarist, singer, and songwriter in local band The Grift. He also owns a recording studio in Middlebury where he produces records. Twice a year he runs a rock and roll camp for kids called “Rock-It Science”. He is an alum of Middlebury College and was in the all-male a cappella group called The Dissipated 8 for 4 years (musical director for two years).
Justin Bouvier has been an active participant in music and theater for the past 11 years. Justin has been seen on stage all around Vermont, performing with companies such as: Lyric Theater Company, Potato Hill Players, and The Company.
Born and raised in Bristol, Vermont, Helen Weston has been immersed in the theater, dance and music world all of her life. Both her parents and all five siblings are musicians and Helen has been studying the piano and other instruments since the age of 7 years and is still performing on stage 45 years later.
Alisa Endsley has portrayed numerous leading ladies of the musical stage from Sandy & Rizzo in Grease, Aldonza in Man of La Mancha, Eva Peron in Evita to the lead role of Norma Desmond in the original company of Sunset Boulevard in London’s West End as well as on Broadway.
Loren Sylvester is a 27-year-old Master of Music Education from Castleton University. He has been arranging a cappella music since first joining Castleton’s a cappella, Vocal Unrest, back in 2006, and has also been VU’s musical director and artistic director on and off during his undergraduate and graduate studies for the past 10 years.

The 2nd annual United in Harmony is Saturday, April 9, 7 PM. Tickets are $15.00 - $35.00 and may be purchased at townhalltheater.org, by calling 802-382-9222 or in person at the THT box office Mon-Sat, noon-5pm.
