Green Up Day 2016

Past event
May 7, 2016, 8 AM to 2 PM

Please save the date of Sat., May 7, to help So. Burlington green up the City. Last year 21,000 volunteers collected more than 40,000 bags of trash statewide. Something new this year for Green Up Day Vermont (a non-profit) is a chance to contribute on the charitable section of the Vt. State Income Tax form IN-111 in section 6. Please consider supporting the statewide organization this year, as well as our local pick-up efforts. The So. Burlington Land Trust will again be organizing Green Up Day locally. Collection bags should be available by mid-April and we will notify everyone when they are here. The City Hall collection center will be open from 8am-2pm to receive your bags and larger items. When you come you can also enjoy the exhibits, food and activities. There are prizes for most unusual item and most trash collected. The SB Energy Committee, Trader Joe’s, Building Energy, Sun Common and Common Roots have signed up to help so far. If you or your civic group would like to form a team to green up, please contact Sarah Dopp at sarah.dopp@uvmhealth.org or 985-3581.
