Passover Desserts Cooking Class at Havurah

Join us Sunday, April 3 from 2 to 5pm at Havurah House (56 N. Pleasant St.) for a special cooking class focusing on some excellent Passover desserts. If you're looking to expand your Pesadic repertoire to include more than fruit or macaroons then this is the perfect class for you! Not a member of Havurah but interested in attending? No problem! Everyone is welcome.

We'll have recipe packets with lots of flour free alternatives, substitution tips and pointers for perfecting your Passover meal (or simply learning some new recipes to try out on your family members and dinner guests with dietary restrictions). We'll also make a few confections (including chocolate avocado truffles!) during the class in a series of hands-on demonstrations, then get to eat what we make!

This class is co-led by Sarit Katzew & David Edleson. Sarit has an extensive cooking background including helping revamp recipes for local favorite, Noonie Deli, and operating her own catering company, Savory & Sweet by Sarit, for 5 years while living just outside New York City. Before becoming a rabbi, David worked as an under-chef in Atlanta restaurants, and has continued to build both his Jewish and general cooking skills over the decades.

Class will include hands on demonstrations and end with a chance to try what we've made! We'll also provide tips about where to locally source your kosher for passover ingredients.

Materials fee of $18 per person. Checks payable to Havurah. Each participant will also receive a recipe packet to take home.

To register, please email Sarit Katzew at HHEdDirector@gmail.com

Hope to see you Sunday, April 3rd!
