Volunteers Needed to Help Restore Hunger Mtn Co-op Rain Garden Sept. 27

Past event
Sep 27, 2013, 9 AM to 3 PM

This coming Friday, September 27, from 9 am to 3 pm, the Friends of the Winooski River will be holding a work party to restore Hunger Mountain Co-op’s rain garden. This garden helps reduce the amount of stormwater flowing from the co-op parking lot into the Winooski River, thus helping to reduce flooding and protect river water quality. We are in need of volunteers to help weed, plant perennials, and mulch. Please join us even for a short period of time and learn about ways to reduce your stormwater impact and help protect our lovely, oft neglected local river! Co-op members receive a 6% discount for two weeks for every hour they volunteer. Call Shawn at 223-4199 to let us know you’re coming or for more information.
