The Vermont Arts Council and the Vermont Department of Buildings and General Services invite the public to an open meeting of the Art in State Buildings Program on Wednesday, September 25th from 1-4 p.m. at the White Meeting House (Congregational Church) at 8 North Main Street in Waterbury, VT. At the meeting artist finalists will present their preliminary design concepts for a possible public art commission for the new facility to house the Vermont Agency of Human Services in Waterbury. After the public presentation, the Project Review Committee - made up of selected building employees, community members, visual arts experts and the building architect - will meet to determine which of the artists will be selected as the “Lead Artist”. Five finalists were chosen from a pool of 32 applicants: Sara-Lee Terrat of Waterbury; Gordon Auchincloss of Hardwick; Natalie Blake of Brattleboro; Leslie Fry of Winooski; and Julia Zanes/Donald Saaf/Torben Larsen of Brattleboro.
