Who is Laverne Cox? What are the differences between sex, gender, gender expression, and sexual orientation? What is intersectionality? If some of these ideas seem unclear, it's time for an LGBTQ Tune Up! Trained facilitator Mara Iverson will be offering a free, 2-hour workshop for allies of LGBTQ folks. The workshop, developed by the Safe Zone Project, informs participants regarding appropriate terminology and current issues. It also covers ways in which to best support the LGBTQ community as well as terms and behaviors that are best avoided. Mara will offer this workshop at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier on three dates to accommodate a range of scheduling needs: Monday, January 25 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm; Thursday, February 11 from 9:30 - 11:30 am; and Sunday, February 21 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm.
