Attention Barre Community! Take part in a community art project!
Remember the beloved Ward 5 School in Barre? It's getting a new lease on life, and we want YOU to be part of its transformation!
Join Downstreet Housing & Community Development on Friday, February 14th, 4-8 PM at the Barre Labor Hall for a special community event. Share your Ward 5 stories, photos, and memorabilia to inspire a unique tile mosaic artwork that is being created by artist Mary Topogna.
Come and connect with fellow alumni and community members over snacks and refreshments, and don't forget to bring your Ward 5 School treasures - yearbooks, report cards, photos. Any small, flat, and durable items that capture its spirit could be included in the mosaic. Your memories could become part of Barre's history!
Why are we doing this? Downstreet is nearing completion of the Ward 5 School Apartments project, which will preserve the school's historic features and essential details. Your memories of the Ward 5 School will help to inspire the tile mosaic that artist Mary Topogna is creating at the school.
Can't make it? Email stories, pictures, voice memos, media to scohen@downstreet.org or drop off items for the mosaic at Studio Place Arts in Barre.
