Sally Olson, a Vermont singer and graduate of Middlebury College, is presenting a concert on Saturday, January 23 at 7:00 pm at the Unitarian Church in Middlebury. The concert will benefit Charter House Coalition (charterhousecoalition.org), a volunteer based non-profit providing emergency shelter and free Community Meals to those who are living in difficult circumstances. Twenty four individuals, including three families, are currently living at Charter House. The organization provides free meals every day of the week for those who are food insecure. Over 27,000 meals were provided in 2015.

The concert is a tribute to the music of the Carpenters’, a brother-sister duo who sang such hits as We’ve Only Just Begun and There’s a Kind of Hush All Over the World. Sally incorporates authentic vintage costumes into her show to help recreate the world of the Carpenters. She will be accompanied by Tim Guiles in a show conceived by Bill Reed. Tim is the accompanist for the Middlebury College Community Chorus and often accompanies the Vermont Symphony Orchestra Chorus. Sally has graduate degrees from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Florence Academy of Art in Italy.

Donations are requested at the door. To learn more about the concert visit www.carpenterstributeconcert.com.
