If you didn't have a chance to catch the (spectacular) debut performance of Early and Modern, Sacred and Secular last month at The Middlebury Community Music Center, you have another opportunity on Thursday, December 3rd at 12:15pm at Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church in Middlebury! Bring a bag lunch (really) and help yourself to a snack in the back of the church (really!) during the 1/2 hour FREE concert. The music will include works for voice, violin and piano with MCMC faculty members, soprano Jessica Allen, violinist Emily Sunderman, and pianist Sadie Brightman featuring works by J.S. Bach and Amy Beach.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: The period of Advent is hopeful for many of us, but sometimes also sad. This program hopes to give space for the spectrum of emotions. It will feature a reflective program you can cocoon yourself in as protection from mindless seasonal preparation. It is a program for ALL of us, but especially for those who require music as sustenance. It is a program for those who grieve and mourn lost friends and partners. It is a program for those who appreciate the power of music as conduit for tears.
