What: A Green Burial Informational Event!
Where: Our lovely Lincoln Library
When: Saturday, January 18th at 4pm
Why: Join in on a wonderfully unique opportunity for learning, growth, and discussion around green burial in our state and in our community.
How: We are super excited that Jim Hogle, president of the Vermont Forest Cemetery (VFC), will be joining us to answer questions and support conversation around the wide range of topics death and burial presents us, from the spiritual, to the logistics, to the science, to the legalities - so much to explore! The VFC is a green burial ground just on the other side of the mountain in Roxbury that has been navigating what modern green burial looks like and its evolution into the future.
One of the first burials held at VFC is the subject of a beautifully crafted 20-minute documentary titled, From Earth to Earth. Part of this event will be screening the film as an opportunity to answer some questions, generate thought and discussion, and to provide a visual of the green burial process. Here's a link to the trailer for you to take a look:

Part of the intention of this event is to think about what the establishment of a green burial ground in Lincoln could look like. Part of this will be Metta Earth providing information regarding the establishment of a burial ground that would be open to the public.
Light refreshments will be provided and we look forward to a lively (get it?!) and thought provoking community event!
