Karen Kitzmiller Memorial Coat Drive

Past event
Oct 25, 12 PM to 4 PM, Oct 26, 2013

Dear Friends and Constituents,

The time is nearing for the annual Karen Kitzmiller Memorial Coat drive, scheduled this year for October 25 & 26. I am writing to ask you to consider volunteering a few hours of time to help out.

Most of you know the valuable service this drive provides to our Central Vermont neighbors. Each year, we collect and distribute nearly 2,000 warm winter coats to folks in need of one. We also distribute hats, mittens, gloves, boots, comforters, quilts, and blankets. It is a GREAT event! The event takes place in two locations, Montpelier City Hall and at Community National Bank in Barre.

What is needed is help on Friday the 25th, bringing coats that have been donated to Montpelier City Hall. Then, we need some helpers on Saturday the 26th, when people come to City Hall to pick out a coat, sometimes for themselves, sometimes for a neighbor, or for their children. This is very much like the famous sales in Filene's basement, except that ours are FREE!

If you have a couple of spare hours, won't you please consider helping out? It is not hard work, but it is very satisfying and worthwhile.

My super volunteer, Theresa Giffin, has the sign up sheets and can tell you which timeslots are yet to be filled! Please give THERESA a call at 229-4625.

If you have warm winter coats (don't forget hats, mittens, blankets, etc) in good used condition that you no longer need and would be willing to donate to the drive, please take them to Community National Bank either in Montpelier, or in Barre . . .and Thank You!

Sincerely,
Rep. Warren Kitzmiller
