Public Hearings on Vermont's Energy Future

Past event
Oct 13, 2015, 6 to 8 PM

Have something to say about Vermont's energy future? You can help shape it by sharing your thoughts with the Public Service Department.

The PSD will be holding a series of public hearings around the state in October to solicit Vermonters' feedback on the recently released draft of Vermont's long-range Comprehensive Energy Plan. Public comments -- which can also be submitted online or to the PSD directly -- will be taken until November 9, 2015. A final plan is due to the Legislature in December. Read the draft and find far more information at: http://www.energyplan.vt.gov

The state plan, which was last updated in 2011, will incorporate public input from forums held earlier this year, as well as some of the findings of the Total Energy Study, completed by the PSD last year. One of the PSD's goals for the updated plan is to establish nearer-term energy and efficiency targets that balance technology constraints, cost, carbon considerations and community concerns.

The hearings will run from 6pm to 8pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

Upcoming dates and locations for the hearings include:
• October 13 – Essex (Essex High School, Cafeteria)
• October 21 – Montpelier (Noble Hall, Vermont College of Fine Arts)
• October 26 – Bellows Falls (Bellows Falls Union High School, Auditorium)
• October 29 – Rutland (Rutland Regional Hospital, Community Health Education Center)
