GRUESOME PLAYGROUND INJURIES AT LOST NATION THEATER, MONTPELIER, VT, OCT.13&14.

After a wildly successful weekend this summer at Phantom Theater in Warren, Gruesome Playground Injuries is coming to Montpelier’s very own local theater! This contemporary serio-comedy by award-winning Rajiv Joseph will be presented by Lost Nation Theater (LNT) on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 13&14 at 7:00pm. Directed by Joanne Greenberg, the production stars U-32 High School alum Maren Langdon ("Chorus Line," "The Birds," "Twelfth Night," "Dogg’s Hamlet") and her husband Dominic Spillane, who recently moved to the area to continue theater careers they developed in New York City over several years. The play follows two friends from ages eight to 38 through the variety of injuries that bring them together. From time spent in the school nurse’s office as children, through teenage fights and hospital stays of a more serious nature, the two flit in and out of each other’s lives, comparing both their physical scars and the damage that goes far deeper. The two performances, which are part of LNT's On Dark Nights series, will be held at its wheelchair-accessible theater upstairs in City Hall. For ticket information, please call the box office at (802) 229-0492 or go online lostnationtheater.org. For a sneak peek at the production, go to https://youtu.be/sm9rKr7f6YU

What the critics have said about past productions:
• "The destructive streak in human nature is a recurring theme fast-rising playwright Rajiv Joseph explores from different angles. ... Gruesome Playground Injuries inwardly focuses on the legacy of childhood trauma." (LA Times)
• “… Some of the darkest and funniest moments you will ever see on stage.” (Seven Days)
