Ahhh Fall! Columbus Day weekend is the best time for the ultimate Vermont Fall experience. Crisp clear days, beautiful foliage and… the Floating Bridge Food and Farms Harvest Market and Apple Pie contest. Join us on Sunday October 11th, 12-3pm at the Brookfield Old Town Hall, 42 Stone Rd by Sunset Lake in Brookfield’s scenic Pond Village. There will be seasonal fresh farm produce, pastured meats and poultry, Fat Toad Farm Caramel, cider, honey, maple syrup, herbal teas, flowers, pickles, canned items and much more. Lunch items by famous Ariels Restaurant from their Cantina menu will be available, as well as hot and cold fresh cider and other delicious offerings. The judging of the Apple Pie Contest will take place at 12:30pm with Apple Pie slices for sale afterwards, with half of the proceeds from the Apple Pie sale going to the Randolph Area Food Shelf. Top your pie with Ice Cream and Award winning Fat Toad Farm Caramel! There will also be a cider pressing demonstration at 1:45pm. Small bags of apples from Liberty Orchards will be available at the Market October 11th, but for all your fall apple needs visit Coop Member Liberty Orchards at West St and Crossover Rd in Brookfield: Mon-Thurs 1-5pm and Fri, Sat, Sun 10-5pm starting September 26; and pick your own (best apples for apple pie contest).
